چکیده
Present study was carried out during 2018–19 and 2019–20 at ICAR-Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research, Bharatpur, Rajasthan to evaluate the effect nitrogen (N) sulphur (S) nutrition on production efficiency, water productivity, economics Indian mustard [Brassica juncea (L.) Czern & Coss.] under irrigated conditions. The experiment conducted in a split plot design with 5 levels (0, 60, 80, 100 120 kg/ha) as main treatment 4 20, 40, 60 subplot 3 replications. Results revealed that application kg N/ha recorded highest plant height (205 cm), leaf area index (5.4), number leaves/ (47.3), primary branches/plant (6.8), secondary (18.9), SCMR (46.5), siliquae/plant (382), seeds/silique (18), stem girth (6.65 test weight (5.79 g) seed yield (3.04 t/ha). Among different S levels, maximum values growth physiological parameters, attributes were S/ha (2.71 Similarly, efficiency (22.1 kg/ha/day) productivity (1.53 seed/m3) found higher than S/ha. net monetary returns Benefit cost (B: C) ratio S/ha.Thus, N may be revised kg/ha, respectively for semi-arid climates achieve profitability.

ASSESSING APHID INFESTATION IN INDIAN MUSTARD (Brassica juncea L.) UNDER PRESENT AND FUTURE CLIMATE SCENARIOS
Mustard (Brassica juncea L.) production in India suffers from aphid, Lipaphis erysimi (Kaltenbach), infestation considerably. Role of weather on the incidence and development of mustard aphids was assessed from experimental data from six north Indian locations. Aphid appearance and population build up was found to be regulated by temperature and time to attain peak population was relatively sho...
متن کاملCOMPARISON OF HALF-SIB AND FULL-SIB PROGENY SELECTION METHODS IN INDIAN MUSTARD (Brassica juncea L.) UNDER RAINFED CONDITIONS
An experiment was carried out to compare half-sib and full-sib progeny selection methods in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) under rainfed conditions from 2006-07 to 2009-10 for 14 morpho-physiological characters. Full-sib and half-sib progenies were developed from different populations. The values of genetic parameters were higher in full-sibs compared to half-sibs for a greater number of t...
متن کاملGrowth response modulation by putrescine in Indian mustard Brassica juncea L. under multiple stress.
Plants, in general, are put to various kinds of stress, biotic and abiotic, both natural and manmade. Infestation by insect pests and diseases, and extreme conditions such as salinity, temperature, etc., as well as heavy metal contamination affect their growth performance. Here, we studied the impact of salinity and heavy metal pollution on the growth performance of Indian Mustard Brassica junc...
متن کاملAnatomical changes due to uptake and accumulation of Zn and Cd in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea)
Anatomical and physiological changes in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) plants due to uptake and accumulation of Zn and Cd were investigated. Potted plants were exposed to metal treatments of Zn and Cd for 15 and 16 days, respectively. Leaves, stems and roots were harvested for studying anatomy and analyzing metal accumulation. Anatomical changes were documented using light microscopy, scannin...
متن کاملBioregulatory Role of “thiourea” in Multistress Tolerance of the Indian Mustard (brassica Juncea)
Thiourea (TU) application has been identified as a novel bioregulator technology, for imparting stress tolerance in crop plants. TU application has shown normal growth of Brassica juncea seedlings under salinity stress. In order to study the molecular mechanism underlying TU mediated response, genome wide transcriptome profiling of Brassica juncea seeds was undertaken. In one hour soaking time,...
